I’m excited to finally share that the MTR Traffic Addon is getting very close to its first public beta release.
Built as an addon for Minecraft Transit Railway, the goal of this project is to bring more life, realism, and road infrastructure into modern Minecraft transit worlds. Over the past 3 weeks, development has focused heavily on building a flexible traffic system that works naturally alongside large-scale MTR builds and transport networks.
Before the beta goes live, I’m currently finishing several important features and polishing core systems to make the first testing phase as stable and complete as possible.
One of the biggest features currently in development is fully working traffic light indicator blocks. These blocks will visually display the current active light state in real time, making intersections feel much more dynamic and interactive. Instead of relying only on decoration, the traffic system is being designed to provide clear visual feedback for players and builders alike.
Current Focus Before Beta
Here are some of the main things being worked on right now:
- Functional traffic light indicator blocks
- Improved synchronization between traffic signals
- Better block interactions and placement behavior
- Performance optimization for larger road systems
- Bug fixing and visual polish
- Additional decorative traffic infrastructure
The beta phase will mainly focus on gameplay testing, stability, compatibility, and gathering community feedback before larger content updates begin rolling out.
The long-term vision for the addon is to create a complete traffic ecosystem for Minecraft cities — combining realistic road infrastructure with the flexibility that MTR builders expect from modern transit projects.
More previews, screenshots, and feature showcases will be posted soon as development continues.
